Renew Scotland’s Great Places

Bring key places up to continental standards

Scotland’s key city gateways offer a dreadful experience for local people and visitors, and urgently need regeneration. Places including Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and New Town, Glasgow George Sq, Aberdeen Union St, Dundee Waterfront and Perth Station need large scale pedestrianisation, public realm improvements and removal of traffic. The Scottish Government’s strategic transport project review should recognise the national importance of these places in terms of transport interchange and footfall. City deals should be reconfigured to deliver iconic public realm projects bringing our key places up to continental standards.
