‘Mummy Measurement Tool’ for planners, engineers, contractors and decision makers
Cycling infrastructure often falls short of a standard that enables anyone but the quick and brave to cycle. If we want everyone to consider active travel we need to provide infrastructure that enables everyone to cycle safely and conveniently. My idea is based on my own ‘Mummy Measurement Tool’ which determines when and where is safe for my child to ride. A simple piece of legislation would make it a requirement that the planners, engineers, contractors and decision makers that plan and implement cycling infrastructure offer their child, partner or other beloved to be the first users of their scheme at rush hour, or at night for off main road schemes.
