Many children are driven in cars to school when they could easily walk. The roads are now so busy now that children cannot be allowed to independently walk to school themselves for fear of being hit by a reversing driver such is the parking chaos near schools. Enforcing a car free zone around schools would make the area safer of the children that do walk and may encourage others to do so.
